All of San Mateo County, Santa Clara County, and the following East Bay cities: Fremont, Newark, Union City, Hayward, Pleasanton and Livermore.

Is Bay Builders licensed, bonded & insured?

Yes, Bay Builders is licensed, bonded and insured. We currently hold an active “B” class, General Building Contractor’s license as well as a “C36” class, Plumbing Contractor’s license. Please verify ours and all other contractors' license, bond and insurance information by going to the California State License Board website at www.cslb.ca.gov

How can I be sure my project is overseen daily and up to code?

In compliance with California State License Board (BPC) section 7152) Bay Builders will provide each client with one dedicated and HIS Registered Project Manager. A Project Manager will assist you with EVERYTHING from A to Z, oversee the job site and provide daily updates via your preferred method of communication.

Am I free from liability in the event of an accident or mishap on the job site?

Yes, absolutely. In order to protect our clients and workers, we hold the highest liability insurance available in the industry.

Question 6

Are permits required for my project?

Answer

A permit may be required if any changes to the framing, mechanical, plumbing or electric. Permit codes vary by city, so check with your local building department or give us a call (888) 500-3551.

Question 7

Who will assist me in the permit process?

Answer

Bay Builders will fill out the permit application and obtain the permit on your behalf.

Question 8

Does the written proposal include permit fees?

Answer

The permit is essentially the owner’s certification of authorized alterations to an existing structure, a receipt from the city. Therefore, permit fees are considered an additional cost and will not be included in the written proposal.

Will Bay Builders provide references from past clients?

Answer

Yes, of course! We will provide you with a list of references tailored to your neighborhood and schedule a consultation.

How much will the initial consultation cost?

Answer

Our consultations are complimentary, no obligation. An HIS registered project manager will meet with you at the project site to discuss in detail the scope of your project, city requirements/restrictions, and write you a formal proposal.
